I started working with the Heatherwick Studio in 2009 , since then I have done many shoots in various locations documenting the Extrusion series and Spun Chairs .

The Extrusions are extremely challenging as they are all unique they reflect light in different ways.  the set builds and lighting  were always changing from one to the next. .

SPUN

SPUN

Spun Series 2007.  " Spun began as an exploration into whether the process of metal spinning could be used to create something to sit on . As the finished object would be a completely symmetrical rotational form it would have to be able to work as a chair whichever way round it was rotated ". The original prototype is above and from  their were many shoots documenting the evolution of Spun . The original shoots were at Haunch of Venison and then carried on mainly at Jayhawk Art Storage working with the Heatherwick Studio .

EXTRUSION

Extrusion 2009 . Inspired by a visit to an aluminium factory , a concept to produce seating for airports caught the imagination . " After sixteen years a single machine was created in Asia for manufacturing aerospace components , which was big enough , and the studio had the opportunity to trial its design using the largest extrusion die ever produced . The initial experiment was a success and the studio created a series of pieces in which a straight , clean , extruded length is contrasted with its raw , contorted end " . ( Heatherwick website ) .

Testimonial: " I've been working with Peter since 2014 and, as well as always thoroughly enjoying his days at my studio, I think his documentation of my paintings is excellent. My studio is pretty small so it's a challenging space to photograph large work in, but he somehow manages it, achieving consistently very high quality images which are an accurate reflection of both the colour and materiality of my paintings. This consistency is particularly noticeable when seeing a body of work reproduced in a book -I've been lucky enough to see Peter's photography of my paintings in a number of publications, and knowing I have his flat copy images always gives me confidence that I'll be happy with this lasting record of my work" .
