ART INSTALLATIONS

Photography that is site specific, of large scale, immersive artworks. These installations are designed to transform a space, and documentation is often the lasting representation of the artwork so it’s vital to be able to capture the scale, light, movement and feeling of the whole experience. Each installation needs an individual approach based on the vision and brief of the artist.

Photography of installation, public and land art all needs to not only capture the work, but also the environment, and sometimes people engaging within the work to give it scale and context.

Their are many set building techniques required to document Art . From Painting to Sculpture set building is a major part of the shoot . From Large Galleries art storage too small artists studios the requirements can vary greatly .

I documented works by Lynn Chadwick from 2014 -2019 , working in Berlin and London at Blain Southern Gallery and the Royal Academy . Here are a series of steel beasts in Mackette form and also full size that were made between 1989-1990 . The sculptures were shown in the R.A.s Annenberg Courtyard in May 2014 and also in exhibitions at Hanover Square and Berlin.
